The technical state of the product is ready for delivery. According to the arrangements of the main engine institute, the next step will be to carry out installation and flight tests.

UAV satellite communication system uses Ku-band communication satellites for long-distance transmission of data, video and remote control commands. Among them, the ground → satellite → UAV link is the forward link, used to transmit remote control instructions; the UAV → satellite → ground link is the reverse link, used to transmit video, telemetry data, business data, etc. The data transmission rate of the reverse link from the drone to the ground can reach 8Mbps, and the data transmission rate of the forward link from the ground to the drone can reach 256Kbps.

UAV satellite communication system includes airborne satellite communication terminal (SADT) and ground satellite communication station (SGDT). The airborne satellite communication terminal is installed on the UAV platform, and the ground satellite communication station is installed on the ground.

The UAV satellite communication system delivered during this acceptance is "3 stations and 6 machines", including 6 sets of airborne satellite communication equipment and 3 sets of ground satellite communication stations. In actual operations, a set of ground satellite communication stations can communicate two-way with the airborne satellite communication equipment on two drones at the same time.

Airborne satellite communication equipment includes airborne 0.8m in-motion communication antenna, airborne communication terminal and power amplifier BUC, etc.

The ground satellite communication station includes a 2.4m static-in-the-air antenna, a ground shelter and cabinets in the shelter, various satellite communications equipment, network communication equipment, power supplies, seats and other equipment.

The UAV satellite communication system delivered during this acceptance is a mature product developed by the company. The system began project development in 2017 and has gone through the planning stage, engineering prototype stage, and identification stage. The entire system will complete technical status appraisal in 2022.

From 2018 to 2022, the UAV satellite communication system was mounted on a certain UAV platform to complete flight missions in many areas of the country, including Tibet, Xinjiang, Ningxia, Inner Mongolia, Henan, Hubei, Zhejiang and other places.

UAV satellite communication system achieves stable and effective transmission of video, images, and data in complex and harsh application environments such as "large maneuvers, long endurance, low temperature, high altitude, and low pressure" of aircraft.
