Liu Jingnan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, recently revealed that the Wuhan Navigation and Location Services Industrial Technology Research Institute, in cooperation with Wuhan University and other related research teams in China, is jointly formulating the relevant standards for Beidou smartphone high-precision positioning and navigation chips. The launch of this standard will become the "pass" for Beidou navigation to enter the market and then the world in the field of high-precision positioning and navigation chips for smartphones. BeiDou system rapidly expands to downstream applications
Since 2007 , when Beidou was recognized by the United Nations as one of the core suppliers of the world's four major satellite navigation systems, along with the US GPS , Russia's GLONASS and Europe's GALILEO , China's Beidou industry has entered a rapid development stage. According to data provided by the China Satellite (600118, Stock Bar ) Navigation System Management Office, after years of development, the total output value of China's satellite navigation industry reached 190 billion yuan in 2015 , with Beidou's contribution rate exceeding 30 %, of which the contribution rate in the fields of precision industry, geographic information and infrastructure has reached 50% . If it develops at this speed, it is expected that the satellite navigation industry will reach 400 billion yuan in 2020 , and Beidou's contribution rate will account for 60%~80% .
Over the years, the brilliant achievements of Beidou industry development are inseparable from the strong support of national policies. Since the publication of the ICD document in 2012 , which marked the official opening of the Beidou navigation industry market, we can see that in the following years, the state has successively issued the "Opinions of the State Council on Promoting Information Consumption and Expanding Domestic Demand", "National Satellite Navigation Industry Medium- and Long-Term Development Plan", "People's Liberation Army Satellite Navigation Application Management Regulations", "National Civil Space Infrastructure Medium- and Long-Term Development Plan ( 2015-2025 ) ", etc. These policies are all for further accelerating the development and industrialization of Beidou navigation core technology , and promoting the integration and development of Beidou navigation with mobile communications, geographic information, satellite remote sensing, mobile Internet, etc. In March 16 this year , the National Defense Science and Technology Industry Bureau issued the " 2016 National Defense Science and Technology Industry Bureau Military-Civilian Integration Special Action Plan", the purpose of which is still to increase investment in the Beidou industry and its wide application in downstream fields by introducing private capital.
"Beidou + " opens up new prospects for application industries
At present, in addition to military use, the Beidou system is also widely used in professional fields such as surveying and mapping, transportation, marine fisheries, electricity, energy, and precision agriculture, as well as mass consumer fields such as smart phones and car navigation. It is expected that this year, with the country's efforts to promote military-civilian integration, the Beidou market will usher in a new outbreak point. The implementation of the "Belt and Road" strategy promoted by the country will further accelerate the global application of the Beidou satellite navigation system.

Since entering the ASEAN market and taking the lead in building application projects in Thailand, Laos, Brunei, Pakistan and other countries have also adopted the BeiDou navigation system and built ground augmentation stations in the following years. During Xi Jinping's visit to Egypt in January this year, Ran Chengqi, director of the China Satellite Navigation System Management Office, and Mohammed Ben Amo, secretary-general of the Arab Information and Communication Technology Organization, also signed the "Memorandum of Understanding on China-Arab Cooperation in the Field of Satellite Navigation" at the Arab League headquarters. The two sides have established a formal cooperation mechanism in the field of satellite navigation, and their cooperation can include the joint construction of ground base stations and the joint operation of BeiDou navigation services.
Precisely because of the proactive attack and endogenous growth, China's satellite navigation industry is gradually transforming from single GPS applications to multi-system compatible applications, from navigation applications to integrated applications such as navigation and mobile communications and the Internet, and from terminal applications to a focus on both products and services.
At present, the national policy strongly supports the development of satellite communications. It is estimated that in the next five years, the annual growth rate of investment in China's communication satellite ground application system will be 23% . By 2020 , the investment amount will be at least 62 billion yuan.
