Abstract: After the full completion of my country's Beidou global navigation, domestic navigation terminal manufacturers will benefit and achieve overtaking. As a big country, we must have our own global satellite navigation system, which is Beidou! It is not only China's Beidou, but also the world's Beidou!

On March 30 , 2015 , China successfully launched a Beidou navigation satellite. This is the 17th Beidou navigation satellite launched by China . The successful launch marks the beginning of the Beidou navigation system's transition from regional operation to global networking.

In fact, as early as 2012 , Beidou navigation began to provide services to most of the Asia-Pacific region, but many people are still not familiar with it. Today, let's take a look at what applications the Beidou satellite navigation system will have after it is fully built. In addition, there is already a very useful GPS global satellite positioning system, so why spend a huge amount of money to build another one?

A wide variety of applications

If you want to talk about the uses of global satellite navigation, it would take three days and three nights to finish. Satellite navigation has hundreds of applications, which affect almost all aspects of modern society. Moreover, the number of applications is constantly increasing. In a word, what satellite navigation can be used for depends entirely on human imagination.

Just like sunlight, everyone in the world can get it fairly. Global satellite navigation signals are also like sunlight and air.  They come from the sky all the time and diffuse around us. Anyone can get them. And unlike mobile phone signals, the more people use them, the worse the signal becomes. This is easy to understand. Just like broadcast  signals , the number of radio stations has no effect on the strength of the broadcast signal.

No matter where and when, we can locate and navigate. No matter you are a person, a sheep, or a robot, you can use the signal of the global satellite navigation system. Therefore, the applications of satellite navigation are really varied and endless. It is too difficult to list all the applications, but we can list a few interesting applications to let everyone see the power of satellite navigation:

Reduce traffic accidents

According to a survey, 40% of fatal car accidents are caused by speeding. Although many roads are equipped with cameras to monitor drivers and prevent them from speeding, you cannot install cameras on all roads because the cost is too high. Therefore, in places without monitoring, speeding often leads to many serious traffic accidents.

In addition to positioning and navigation, satellite navigation can also measure the speed of vehicles. Therefore, as long as all cars are equipped with a unified navigation system, such as our Beidou navigation system, the speed of any vehicle can be fully controlled at any time. In this way, speeding will be greatly reduced, and traffic accidents will also be reduced.

Also, for safety reasons, the traffic law stipulates that large vehicles on highways cannot drive on the left, but large vehicles' violations are still rampant. The reason is the same as above, you can't install cameras for monitoring on all long highways. But if all large vehicles leaving the factory are equipped with Beidou navigation terminals, we can monitor the actual driving routes of the vehicles at any time.

Help you graze

Herding is a very hard job. You have to run after the sheep or cattle. A slightly easier way is to have a sheepdog to do the legwork for you, but you still have to follow. If you put a small device on the ear of each sheep, you can herd sheep at home while drinking coffee.

First, the small device on the sheep's ear can be equipped with a Beidou terminal, which allows you to obtain the exact  location . In addition, this small device is powered by solar energy and can emit some sounds, such as the shepherd's shouting, the barking of sheepdogs, and the sound of cars. By playing sounds to certain sheep in the flock, the flock can be very  obedient and follow the owner's instructions to move forward, turn, or turn around. If a sheep is "a dead pig is not afraid of boiling water" and is not interested in the sound, the small device can also emit a tiny electric shock to stimulate the sheep's movement.

The above are just a few uncommon examples. In fact, satellite navigation has been widely used in agriculture, aviation, environment, shipping, public safety and disaster relief, railways, space, surveying and mapping, and timing.

The more important application is in national defense. Almost all fighters and missiles need navigation and positioning functions. Without location  information , fighters may get lost and missiles will not know where to shoot. Take China's Beidou as an example. In 2020 , after Beidou realizes the global satellite navigation function, it will increase China's combat effectiveness by 100 to 1,000 times and  the combat cost-effectiveness by 10 to 50 times, which will undoubtedly greatly improve China's national defense capabilities.

What is the significance of Beidou navigation?

Countless people use GPS navigation for free in private cars or mobile phones, and the user experience is very good. When people mention navigation, they think of GPS first . This leads to many people not knowing that China also has an independent navigation and positioning system. Even those who know Beidou are puzzled. Is n't GPS enough? Is duplicate construction really necessary?

Through the various applications introduced above, we now know that the answer is beyond doubt. It is just like others provide air for your survival, which does not mean that you should not have your own air. Because you must not lose control of your own life!
